One of my favorite pastimes is to make hay by hand, with a scythe and a hayrake. The sights, and sounds, and the aroma are so peaceful and timeless. The occasional approach of a thunderstorm, adds excitement and high drama to the process. Being able to make your own hay, without machines is very empowering.
